David T. Pearlman is a Managing Partner at Steinberg Law Firm and a respected advocate for injured workers and accident victims throughout South Carolina. Guided by a strong sense of passion and commitment, he has dedicated his legal career to helping clients recover from injuries and return to work and support their families.
David’s respect for the law was shaped early in life by his father, the Honorable Gus H. Pearlman, who served as Probate Judge for Charleston County for 35 years. Inspired by his father’s belief in fairness and equal justice, David has devoted his career to protecting the rights of working individuals and ensuring access to justice for all.
After graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1976, David joined Steinberg Law Firm, a practice founded with the mission of representing working people across South Carolina. He became a partner in 1980 and has remained committed to the firm’s mission ever since. Over more than four decades of legal practice, he has successfully argued landmark cases before the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court, helping secure important protections for workers.
David has also served as an adjunct professor of workers’ compensation law at the Charleston School of Law and has lectured extensively on workers’ rights. He is a longtime member of the South Carolina Bar and has received numerous honors, including recognition in Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and the Gedney M. Howe Jr. Award for Outstanding Public Service.
Outside the courtroom, David remains active in community service and supports several local nonprofit organizations.
