John D. Hawkins is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HawkLaw, a South Carolina–based law firm he established in 2002. Since founding the firm, he has focused on building a client-centered practice dedicated to representing individuals in matters involving car accidents, workers’ compensation, personal injury, Social Security disability, administrative law, and criminal law. Licensed to practice law in South Carolina since 1994, John graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he served on the Law Review and was inducted into the Order of Wig and Robe.
John’s legal career began with clerkships for both the South Carolina Supreme Court and the South Carolina Circuit Court, where he developed a strong foundation in litigation and courtroom procedure. In addition to his legal work, he served the people of South Carolina for eight years as a State Senator and four years as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives.
He also served 23 years in the South Carolina Army and Air National Guard, achieving the rank of Major and serving as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wofford College, John brings extensive legal, legislative, and leadership experience to HawkLaw while remaining committed to delivering an exceptional client experience.
