Leadership and Legal Experience

Founder and CEO John D. Hawkins has been licensed to practice law in South Carolina since 1994, after graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law with honors. During law school, he served as Managing Editor of the Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Wig and Robe, an honor recognizing academic excellence and leadership.

Before launching HawkLaw, John gained experience at several law firms and developed a strong foundation in litigation. Over the course of his career, he has handled a wide range of legal matters, including car accidents, workers’ compensation claims, personal injury cases, Social Security disability claims, administrative law issues, and criminal law matters.

In addition to his legal career, John has dedicated years to public service. He served four years in the South Carolina House of Representatives and eight years in the South Carolina State Senate. He also served 23 years in the South Carolina Army and Air National Guard, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to serving his community and state.
