Tor Hoerman is a nationally recognized personal injury attorney with more than 25 years of experience representing clients harmed by negligence. Born in Bethesda, Maryland, Tor grew up as the youngest of four sons in a Navy family, moving frequently before settling in the Chicago area. He attended DePauw University, where he earned a degree in Political Science, played NCAA baseball and football, and served as the baseball team’s captain. Tor earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1995.
After beginning his career in insurance defense, Tor quickly transitioned to representing plaintiffs, first at Kravolec, Jambois & Schwartz, LLC, then at Simmons, Hanly, Conroy, where he led high-profile pharmaceutical litigation, including the first cases against Purdue Pharma related to OxyContin. He successfully negotiated settlements for thousands of clients and assisted the Department of Justice in securing guilty pleas against corporate representatives.
In 2009, Tor founded TorHoerman Law and expanded the firm’s offices to Edwardsville, Chicago, and Clayton, Missouri. Notable cases include Pradaxa ($650 million settlement), Actos ($2.4 billion settlement), and numerous product liability matters.Tor is recognized as a Top 100 National Trial Lawyer, a Top 25 Notable Alumni of Chicago-Kent College of Law, and maintains a 10.0 AVVO rating.
