Ernest Cory (1955–2025) was a distinguished trial attorney and co-founder of Cory Watson Attorneys. Throughout his career, he represented clients across the United States and internationally in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Nationally recognized for his ability to stand up to powerful corporations, Mr. Cory frequently served in leadership roles in complex litigation, including mass torts, multidistrict litigation (MDLs), and class actions.
Mr. Cory began his legal career in Gadsden, Alabama, where he tried his first jury case just 11 months after becoming an attorney. Over the course of his career, he helped thousands of individuals and families pursue justice and fair compensation. As a founding principal of Cory Watson Attorneys, he built a firm grounded in integrity, hard work, and a deep commitment to client advocacy.
Under his leadership, the firm grew into a nationally respected litigation practice that has served more than 150,000 families and recovered over $4 billion in settlements and verdicts. A Birmingham native, Mr. Cory graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama before earning his Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
