James R. Kamensky is a partner in Kanner & Pintaluga’s Personal Injury Practice and serves as managing attorney for the firm’s Alabama, Indiana, and South Carolina operations. James brings a unique background to his legal practice, having first earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from New York University before pursuing a legal career. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law, where he developed a strong foundation in advocacy and litigation. His early professional experience helped shape his client-centered approach, emphasizing clear communication, strategic thinking, and strong courtroom and negotiation skills.
Before joining Kanner & Pintaluga in 2019, James practiced as debtor’s counsel in Chapter 11 bankruptcy litigation matters. Through this work, he developed a passion for representing individuals facing difficult and often overwhelming circumstances. That experience ultimately led him to focus his career on personal injury law, where he now primarily represents individuals injured in automobile negligence and premises liability cases.
Since joining the firm, James has dedicated his practice to helping clients navigate the legal process after life-altering injuries, working to secure compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages so they can focus on recovery.
