Douglas C. Martinson, II, is a partner and shareholder at Martinson & Beason, P.C. in Huntsville, Alabama. A lifelong Huntsville resident and third-generation graduate of Huntsville High School, Mr. Martinson joined the firm in 1990 and has since built a respected practice focused on estate planning, probate, wills and trusts, guardianship, elder law, and corporate and business planning.
Mr. Martinson earned a degree in Finance from the University of Alabama in 1986, where he was actively involved in student leadership. He served as President of the College of Commerce & Business Administration and participated in several prestigious honor societies, including Jason’s Society, Anderson’s Society, Omega Delta Kappa, and Phi Gamma Delta. He later attended Washington & Lee University School of Law, where he served as President of the Student Bar Association and Chairman of the Legal Research Association, earning the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Research.
Throughout his career, Mr. Martinson has demonstrated strong leadership in the Huntsville community. He has served as president of the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association, the Huntsville School Board, the Rotary Club of Huntsville, and the Huntsville Young Lawyers Association. He currently chairs the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library Board and serves on several nonprofit and community boards.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Martinson enjoys reading, skiing, and playing golf and tennis while remaining active in community and charitable initiatives.
