Biography Overview
Gregory M. Funfsinn is a founding partner and accomplished attorney whose background reflects a strong work ethic and determination. Raised in Mendota, Illinois, he grew up on a family farm in Bureau County, where he learned the value of persistence and discipline. His father worked for nearly five decades at a Caterpillar factory while also contributing to the family farm, and his mother supported the household by working as a receptionist, waitress, and insurance agency employee.
Greg graduated near the top of his high school class before attending Loyola University Chicago, becoming the first in his family to pursue higher education. He worked his way through college with support from his family, student loans, and factory and retail jobs. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and initially considered a career in law enforcement before choosing to attend law school.
He later graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law and began his legal career as a criminal prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, one of the largest in the United States. He gained extensive litigation experience, arguing appellate cases and handling numerous trials and hearings.
After relocating to Kentucky, he continued his legal career, representing clients in complex litigation. Today, he applies his experience to advocate for injured individuals through Hicks & Funfsinn, PLLC.
