Mr. Patterson earned his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1981 after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1978. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1981 and began a distinguished legal career representing clients across a wide range of cases.
Before joining Hunter Garnett to form Garnett Patterson Injury Lawyers, Mr. Patterson founded and managed the Patterson Law Firm, where he spent many years advocating for clients throughout Alabama. Early in his career, he also served as a legal advisor to the mayors and municipal governments of several small Alabama cities.
In April 2023, Mr. Patterson was appointed Madison County Interim District Court Judge for civil claims, where he presides over disputes, including personal injury matters involving damages under $20,000.
