GJEL Accident Attorneys was founded in the 1970s by partners Andy Gillin and Ralph Jacobson, who met while working at the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County, a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to low-income individuals. From the beginning, their mission was clear: fight for the little guy.

Over the decades, that mission has never changed. Today, GJEL has grown to include partners Luke Ellis, Jim Larsen, and Kristin Lucey, each of whom shares the same dedication to justice and client advocacy. Together, they have built a firm recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America, selected as California Super Lawyers, and AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell for professionalism and ethics.
